Favorite juice: Tart Cherry. “As my wife reminds me, I’m not getting any younger and the tart cherry juice as a part of my overall diet will help me stay active!”

Luc Hobson

Luc is the creative genius who discovered how to make 100% fruit juice even better for you. With over 25 years of industry experience, coupled with his passion for culinary arts and the science of food, he is best described as a Renaissance man in all things gastronomical. (His French accent also doesn’t hurt.) His raccoon-like curiosity and six years of constant tinkering have led him to invent the first-ever proprietary fruit juice de-sugaring method. Luc completed his B.S. in Biochemistry from Université du Québec à Montréal.

Favorite juice: Tart Cherry. "I like the tartness and unique taste, and since it’s made of Montmorency cherries, I get healthy, potent antioxidants.

Gregory C. Papalexis

Partner and Director

Every start up needs someone with a devout attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of running a business. For The NewTree Fruit Co, LP that person was Greg. He was brought on in 2013 to manage operations and finance, after serving as Vice President of a specialized asset-based lender and as General Manager for Sebrett’s Food Manufacturing. Ever the pragmatist, he was the wordsmith of NewTree’s business plan resulting in the award of a substantial grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Greg continues to advise and support the NewTree Company while also lending his infinite knowledge to other nutrient-rich, “better-for-you” category food and beverage products. (Though we all know he loves Edit™ best.) Greg earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Fordham University.

Favorite juice: Grape because of its great taste and I get antioxidants and Vitamin C.

Teresa J. Stephens

Quality Assurance/R&D Juice Consultant

From her early days on the family farm in Iowa, Teresa found herself captivated by the progression of raw materials as they’re incorporated into food products. She set off to an agricultural college on a course of study that centered on food as it makes its way from farm to table: including how quality and safety of food is assured, and how food arrives into the hands of consumers across the world. After gaining experience at several of the biggest names in food manufacturing ("They're Gr-r-reat!"), Teresa traveled the world visiting tropical fruit plantations, as well as pear, grape, and apple orchards. She brings extensive knowledge of all things label-related from her 15 years of experience within the food and beverage industry. Teresa received her degree in Food Technology and Science from Iowa State University, and currently lives with her family in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Favorite juice: Apple because it is a refreshing afternoon refreshment!
